Recently Dr. Beth Lewis, Del Mar College (DMC) Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, announced the hiring of two new Deans–one overseeing Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment and the other leading Learning Resources. Both individuals come from South Texas College (STC) and will begin work at DMC on Monday, Oct. 2.
“The College is very pleased with the outcome of our hiring searches for these positions,” says Dr. Lewis. “The search included the campus community’s participation at open forums for the prospective candidate for each position, and feedback served as a valuable component in our shared governance process.”
Dr. Kristina Wilson will serve as Del Mar’s Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment. She brings 11 years of expertise in higher education assessment and leadership, and her vast experience will play a pivotal role in ongoing College initiatives regarding program review, assessment of student learning outcomes, pathways reform efforts and institutional effectiveness. Dr. Wilson served as associate dean of Curriculum and Student Learning at STC.
She received a Doctorate in Educational Leadership degree from Lamar University, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas-Pan American and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
The College named Cody Gregg to serve as Dean of Learning Resources. Gregg brings over 20 years of experience in management and administrative positions, including his insight in instructional technologies, open resource labs, library services and active learning spaces that will enhance the expansion of DMC library and learning support services. Gregg served as South Texas College’s dean of Library and Learning Support Services and supervised staff across five campuses.
He received a Master in Library and Information Science degree from the University of North Texas. Additionally, he holds a Master of Arts in English as a Second Language degree and a Bachelor of Arts for double major in English and History degree from the University of Texas-Pan American.
