Looking for work can be challenging. Feeling confident is key, but does your resume reflect the skills and experience employers seek and will the application you filled out ensure you get an interview for the job you want?
Area job seekers can get answers and advice from human resource professionals during the 2017 “HIRE ME” Job Fair on Friday, May 19, at the Del Mar College Center for Economic Development, located at 3209 S. Staples.
The FREE event is co-hosted by the Coastal Bend Society for Human Resource Management (CBSHRM) and Del Mar College. The job fair runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with early admission at 9 a.m. for veterans.
For more information, call 361-698-1966, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the CBSHRM website at cbshrm.wildapricot.org/.
The 2017 “HIRE ME” Job Fair features Coastal Bend employers from a variety of sectors including education, energy, financial, food, health care, hospitality, industry, tourism, transportation and more, along with several employment agencies participating. Job seekers should bring plenty of resumes and dress to impress potential employers.
The event also includes resume reviews, application tips to help job seekers get that interview, recommendations about interview techniques and how to dress to impress since “first impressions are lasting impressions.”
“Whether participants attend to speak with potential employers or just need advice on how to improve their resume, the HIRE ME Job Fair offers a variety of resources to get job seekers on the right track toward employment,” says Toni Nerren, CBSHRM president. “Anyone looking for a job, come prepared with the intention to say, ‘HIRE ME!’”
